Whatever Tickles Your Fancy #5

Day 30

Shoes are incredible.

I have had many pairs throughout my life.

I love Converse, Airwalk, and...

Vans.

While I only have three pairs, they treat me well.

It's as if I have hundreds of them all in one.

Vans are comfortable.

Vans fall apart long after you first purchase them.

Vans make you run faster (at least for me).

Vans comes in several shapes, sizes, designs, and colors.

And I love them just as much as Converse.

Thanks for sacrificing a few minutes of your valuable time every day to read all thirty days of my blog.

It was a blast.

Maybe you can do this on your blog, too.

Rock on, people,

♥ Abigail ♥

Your Year in Great Detail

Day 28

This first half of 2010 has been pretty outstanding. I still remember watching on TV the New Year's countdown in New York City: the couples kissing, the performances, the confetti, the celebrities, everyone trying to get warm in the light snow, and I even remember Ryan Seacrest on the stage counting down to New Year's with everyone. And now it's almost June; that's unbelievable. Time can go by so fast. Life is too short. Enjoy it while you have it.

I remember my awesome brother Madison's mission farewell in January. We drove the long five hours to Salt Lake City and had a big family party at Grandma's mansion. We then drove to Provo, ate at the legendary Brick Oven, watched as Madison turned off his phone for two years, and dropped him off at the curb of the MTC. I remember it as if it were just yesterday.

At the end of February I moved to this lovely little town near Boise. At first I thought it was all trees, farmland, and only a few houses, but now that I've lived here for almost three months, I have found that this place is awesome. I love the open land, the schools, the teachers, the town (especially Doug's Burger Den, the hot spot for all 5th graders and up), and of course the people. They have been so kind to my family and me, welcoming us to our new ward and schools.

In the middle of March my parents and I made the decision to stop driving a half-hour every day to my school in Boise and to enroll at an arts school. There really isn't a difference between the arts school and a regular elementary school; we just have a little more artistic minds. The kids immediately became my greatest and most treasured friends. Although I dearly miss my friends back in Boise, I am happy here. I fit in, I feel confident in myself, and I love how the kids admire who I am. I finally feel that I am in the right place, even if I'm still called "tall" or "Big Bird" sometimes. I don't let it get to me. Besides, everyone wishes they were tall. :)

In April I started making a ton of new friends from both church and school. My parents and I found some camps to attend over the summer, and April was just a great month to find new people.

Now it's May. In six school days I will be a 6th grader, and it will be summer where I can sleep in and hang out with people whenever I want and feel free again! Woo hoo, so close!

Yes, a great half has come, and I am now anxious to see what the other half has in store.

Your Month in Great Detail

Day 27

May is the month for the flowers blooming, the air fresh, the temperatures and the humidity rising. Oh, how I love spring. Although the weather can surprise you this time of year, whether it's rainy or sunny, May is a great time to go outside. Oh, how I love spring. Mother's Day is in bloom, and the children thoughtfully give their mothers presents. Even if the gift is made of paper or of gold, a mother appreciates the effort and the thoughtfulness of their children. Oh, how I love spring. Kids nearing the end of the school year, their heads dreaming of summer vacation. For me, I am totally ready for the year to end, because next year I get to enter MIDDLE SCHOOL! Oh, how I love spring.

My months are filled with unpredictable events. Who knew I would be grounded for the second time in my life this month? Who knew today would be windy? Who knew my dear sister was going to stay for Memorial Day weekend? Who knew Roaring Springs Water Park would open earlier than expected? Our lives are just plain random.

I've loved May 2010, but it's time for June to replace you. See you later, school, spring, storms, and say hello to sleeping in, sun, swimming, and summer! (Notice how all those nouns were s's. Hehe.)

Let's celebrate the almost-ending of the 30 Days of Blogging! Only three more days to go! :( and :)

Your Week in Great Detail

Day 26

My week has been average. Nothing more, nothing less. Everything has been plain normal. I will describe to you an average day for me.

  1. Get up at 7:45 A.M.
  2. Get dressed and do my hair before 8:00.
  3. At 8:02, make the regular sack lunch: peanut butter and jelly sandwich, applesauce, Trix yogurt, Chewy granola bar, and a dessert that varies every day.
  4. Make a giant cup of Carnation Instant Breakfast (chocolate milk) at 8:10.
  5. Feed Cooper at 8:18.
  6. Walk to the bus stop at 8:22.
  7. Climb onto the bus at 8:27.
  8. Get to school at 8:35.
  9. Bell rings at 9:05.
  10. Do morning warm-up.
  11. Math is from 9:30 - 10:20.
  12. Recess from 10:20 - 10:35.
  13. Writing/Language Arts/English from 10:35 - 11:25.
  14. SPECIALS: P.E., Music, Art, Library, Computer Lab. Changes every day.
  15. Lunch from 12:15 - 1:00.
  16. Reading/get-work-done time/more English from 1:05 to 2:10.
  17. 2:10 - 2:25 : Recess
  18. 2:25 - 2:40 Correct warm-up.
  19. 2:40 - 3:40 History
  20. 3:40 Get out of school.
  21. 4:15 Get home.
  22. 4:15 - 9:00 Watch TV, go on the computer, play volleyball or basketball outside, walk Cooper, be boring
  23. 9:00 Shower, blow-dry hair, prepare for another average day.
  24. 11:00 Lights out.
So it may sound complex, but really it's a boring day. I try my best to hang out with friends, but when I did yesterday, I was busted and got grounded for the weekend. That is why I didn't write. My mother will still let me update my blog, but when that's done I'm off until the next day.

But pleading for forgiveness in an innocent voice always draws a mother's sympathy. That's how it was, and so I am allowed to hang out with friends tomorrow. YEAH, YEAH!

This was my week in somewhat great detail.
