Experiment

I am using an iPad as I type. My dad received one for Christmas from his company and I got the opportunity to use it for my blog. I can't believe how easy it is to use one of these. It is simple to add an app, to customize the background/wallpaper, to load photos, and to use the Internet. It is so lightweight and easy to carry around. I do wish there were more free apps, but I am satisfied with what it already provides.

HOORAY FOR THE iPAD!

Our world has changed.

So I was sitting at home sick one day...

browsing around the channels looking for something to watch...

when I came across THIS.

(says THIS in a disgusted voice)

The Veggie Monster.

The once sugar addict Cookie Monster has found a love for fruits and vegetables.

This couldn't be happening!

Cookie Monster was pretty much a part of my life!

He was always on when I'd watch TV early mornings.

When I was little, I always begged for Mom to turn on Sesame Street.

I even have a shirt for Cookie Monster!

But then, when obesity came and took over the world...

...Sesame Street came in and tried to help solve the child obesity problem.

It's good for the cause, but saddening for the active Sesame Street viewers.

Good-bye, Cookie Monster.

You'll always have a special place in my heart (strangely enough).

New Year, New Goals

I couldn't have asked for a better year than 2010. It was the year I made the biggest choice of my life: moving to Eagle and starting a whole new life. It was the year I really began to focus on my future basketball career. It was the year I actually started caring for others. It was the year I grew from 5'6" to 5'9". It was the year I turned 12, which is a huge leap from age 11. It was the year I found gifts I didn't know I had. It was the year I entered middle school. There is so much more that happened; it just comes to show that 2010 was a big year for me.

Now we're into 2011. Not much changes. All that seems different is that instead of writing 2010 on our papers we write 2011. There's nothing to it. But there is one thing: I get to start fresh. I get to progress forward without looking back at what I've done. There is lots to be learned, and I'm guessing 2011 holds many lessons.

I have several resolutions for the new year, but I am not very good about staying true to all of them. Last year I wrote one telling me that I will finish my story by January 2011 and hand it in to an editor. Well, I quit writing that story in mid-August. Ever since I haven't been writing a single story. I am having writer's block. A big one. I made my new blog to help me stay true to someday writing a wonderful story, but right now I am blank. I feel uncreative. So, my three main resolutions are:

1. Think of ideas that could form a story and have that story handed in to an editor by somewhere between January and June of 2012.
2. Work extremely hard in basketball this year. Practice until you die. Make goals that will get you on the varsity team in 9th grade.
3. Do better in school. You may already have all A's and one B in science, but strive to get those grades to 98% or better.

I'm ready for 2011. (:
